Corrimal Beach Tourist Park is tucked away in a friendly residential pocket, just a short cruise north of Wollongong’s buzzing city centre. Whether you’re here for a chilled weekend escape, a family holiday, or a group adventure, our neighbourhood has everything you need to make your stay easy, exciting, and full of local flavour.
From fresh fish and chips to scenic bike rides, splash-worthy swimming spots, and playgrounds the kids will love—there’s something for everyone just a short stroll or drive away. And if you need anything at all, our super-friendly reception team is always happy to help!
Food and shops
Located near the entrance to the park, be sure to stop by the newly opened K by the Sea cafe, your on-site spot for great coffee, fresh bites, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Just a few minutes’ walk away via the pedestrian gate, East Corrimal Shops on Murray Road offer everything from a fresh brew, to groceries and takeaway to a local butcher and hairdresser.
Craving fish and chips? Head west along Lake Parade to Fishnets Takeaway at Pioneer Road—a local favourite! For a relaxed meal and a cold drink, stroll south along the bike track to Towradgi Bowls and Recreation Club. Need more options? Corrimal Town Centre is just a 5-minute drive and packed with shops, cafes, and supermarkets including Aldi, Coles, and Woolworths.
Playgrounds
Our in-park playground is a hit with kids and perfect for burning off some energy. Just a short walk south along the bike track, Towradgi Beach Playground is an award-winning spot with plenty of fun for all ages. For even more playtime, head north to Happy Valley Reserve at the end of Dobbie Avenue—about a 10–15 minute walk—with its newly refurbished playground.
Swimming
Make a splash at Corrimal Beach, patrolled by lifeguards and lifesavers from late September to Anzac Day. Read Council’s beach safety page before you head to the beach. For something different, check out Towradgi Rock Pool—a natural ocean pool best enjoyed at low tide, just a short walk south. Prefer indoor swimming? Corrimal Heated Pool is only a 7-minute drive away and perfect for year-round fun!
Fitness
Get moving with free outdoor exercise equipment next to the Corrimal Surf Club Building. For a full workout, Beaton Park Leisure Centre is just 10 minutes away and offers a gym, indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, and group classes. Casual visitors are welcome, and pay-as-you-go rates make it easy to stay active.
And if you love cycling or walking with a view, you’re in for a treat. The Illawarra Cycleway runs right past the park, offering a scenic, mostly flat path that hugs the coastline for kilometres. Whether you’re up for a leisurely ride, a morning jog, or a sunset stroll, this shared path takes you through beaches, parks, and charming seaside villages. It’s a fantastic way to explore the region at your own pace – and don’t forget your camera, because the views are spectacular. Transport
Getting around is a breeze! Bus stops on Lake Parade and Carrol Road are just a 2-minute walk from the park and connect you to Wollongong city centre. Corrimal and Towradgi Train Stations are each about a 22-minute walk, offering easy access to Wollongong and Sydney. Bus stops connecting you to the Wollongong city centre can be found on Lake Parade and Carrol Road, within 2 minutes’ walk of the Park.

Health and Medical
Need a doctor? East Corrimal Medical Centre website is just a few minutes’ walk away on Murray Road. Corrimal Town Centre also has several medical clinics, including bulk billing options. For emergencies, Wollongong Hospital is approximately 12 minutes’ drive from the Park and includes a 24 hour emergency department.
Libraries
Corrimal library is about 7 minutes’ drive away from the Park. Visit the library to access free wi-fi, use public computers, or print, scan and photocopy documents.
